In His/Lit I, we studied the forms and traditions of theatre and performance arts from Ancient Mayan ritual theatre to Medieval-era drama. This course taught me to look further into the definition of 'theatre' and how different cultures utilized performance throughout history. I took away a greater understanding of the influence theatre history holds on many different aspects of modern life, not just the world of performing arts as we know it. Examples from this class include an essay on the translation differences between two editions of Seneca's Thyestes.
