Design I

Tim Mann, Spring 23

In Design I, I was able to take a broader look at the general production of a show, taking into account the aspects I had not yet focused on in my theatre experience. I was able to think of how to accurately symbolize elements of the story in the design of the stage, which definitely pushed me out of my comfort zone. One of the biggest stretches for me in this course was creating a cohesive design that worked within the context of the play, creating a well rounded environment for the performance. An example is from my group project final of The Visit by Friedrich Dürrenmatt.
