This course covered drama from 1800 to the 1950s. The genres of focus were Realism, Naturalism, Epic Theatre, and Absurdism. For my final project, I wrote an essay about the convergence between theatre, government, and Communism in the 1930s, specifically focusing on the early Red Scare in the United States and the work of Bertolt Brecht.
